The brand created by Miuccia Prada, naive, colourful with a casual and at the same time chick styling aimed at daring young women, has always stood out for its advertising campaigns, particularly for choosing new-born actresses as models to present its creations. This time, aesthetically inspired by John Waters’ film “Female Trouble”, Steven Meisel photographed from doorway promising movie stars Marine Vacth (“Young and beautiful”), Mia Goth (“Nymphomaniac”) and Imogen Poots (“Need for Speed) to launch the new Spring/Summer 2015 collection.
The campaign has aroused controversy in the UK as the Advertising Standards Authority officially censored 22 years old Mia Goth’s picture, on the grounds that both the look and the staging can convey the sexualisation of a minor. Exaggerated? Coherent? Detractors and defenders bring out their arguments. However, from a purely artistic point of view, Miu Miu accomplished once again an impressively beautiful ad work.
